Bird Species
Birds can present a risk to public health by spreading disease via their droppings. These cause an unsightly mess around perching and roosting areas and also damage structures.

Many insect infestations originate from birds nests. Control of birds through population reduction techniques is generally both less desirable and less effective than removing their food sources or blocking off sites where they perch or roost. The latter technique, known as proofing, is now used extensively with blunt spikes, sprung wires and nets installed on buildings to keep birds off without harming them.

Cedar Pest install proofing measures to deter birds. Removal of old carcasses and bird droppings is also professionally undertaken.

The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 protects all wild birds, their nests and eggs. However, some exemptions permit certain species to be controlled by particular methods for specific reasons. Call us to discuss your individual problem.

Sparrows are rarely a problem in domestic situations, but frequently a problem in commercial premises such as warehouses. Sparrows are able to enter buildings through very small gaps and, once in, can be difficult to remove, in these circumstances we can assist with bird capture and prevention methods to avoid recurrence. Of a similar nature we are called a few times each year with birds getting trapped, usually falling down chimneys, this is also something we can help with.
